What is Mild Steel?

What is Mild Steel scraps?

Steel scrap is made up of waste steel or steel products that have been separated by composition and size (or ‘grade’) to make melting easier. There are three main forms of scrap utilised as feed stock in the steel industry. Internal scrap, urgent scrap, and obsolete scrap are the three types.

If the residual content of the following components in steel does not occur at levels compatible with the intended manufacture of an alloy steel, steel scrap is regarded to be alloy-free. The residual levels of elements in scrap must not exceed 0.20 percent chromium, 0.45 percent nickel, 1.65 percent manganese, and 0.10 percent molybdenum. Other than manganese, the overall residuals must not exceed 0.60 percent.
